Music Director Position Open

Tuesday, January 09, 2018
We are a cross-cultural Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) church in beautiful Chattanooga, TN that offers full-time employment, a team focused on the Gospel and racial reconciliation, and a friendly, relaxed work environment.

New City Fellowship at Westminster? began as a Sunday School ministry to urban African-American youth. By God’s grace we are now both a mid-size church and the catalyst for a growing movement of churches and ministries sharing the same mission: to serve the poor and to reconcile all nations to God and each other.
? Our music encompasses original music written by members, traditional and contemporary gospel, traditional and retuned hymns, and contemporary christian music, as well as multilingual music from Latin America and Africa.
? Our vision is to be a cross-cultural worshipping community, centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ that produces discipled believers who become God’s instruments of grace, justice, and mercy.

The Position?: We’re looking for a pianist-vocalist with experience rehearsing and directing a choir and leading worship to help run a robust multicultural multigenerational music program with over one hundred volunteers.
? We offer full-time employment.
? We also offer opportunities for professional and spiritual development.

The Location:? New City Fellowship is based in Chattanooga, TN, also known as the Scenic City for its beautiful vistas; and the Gig city for its gigabit fiber optic internet service, among the fastest in the western hemisphere. Chattanooga is also a deeply divided city. While home to numerous colleges, tourism, and family-friendly activities, its poverty rate is higher than the national average (statistics place it between 22%-30%, compared to 15% nationally). It is considered one of America’s most dangerous cities. New City Fellowship seeks to reach out into that brokenness.

Why Should You Apply?
? To work with a large pool of professional and amateur musicians, vocalists, and tech staff.
? To join a staff dedicated to ministry and sharing the gospel that treats you like family.
? Full-time employment.
? To work in a church founded on a vision for racial reconciliation and cross-cultural ministry.
